Welcome!  I help people with a wide variety of concerns including depression, general anxiety, social anxiety, relationship issues, chronic pain, and acute and chronic medical problems. I also see many people who are addressing spiritual, religious and existential concerns, and who are trying to cultivate purpose, meaning and direction in life.

I integrate Western cognitive-behavioral, developmental and humanistic principles with Eastern psychologies to create both short-term change and a deeper self-understanding to enable you to have a better relationship with yourself and with others. I would like to not only help you reduce unwanted symptoms, such as depression & anxiety, but also have you create a more engaged and meaningful life.

I often teach the traditionally Eastern techniques of mindfulness, meditative and centering practices, and self-compassion in order to dismantle the unhealthy ways that we often think, feel and relate to ourselves and others. For those who are particularly interested in mindfulness and investigating the nature of Self, I work toward increasing your natural awareness, a spaciousness and peace already present within you. I also believe that healthy lifestyle factors (e.g., exercise, nutrition, sleep, social connection) are essential to mental and physical well-being, and I help people achieve their goals in these realms.

I am open and affirming of individuals of every background, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion, and ability status. I consider our first meeting to be a consultation in which we discuss your personal concerns, your hopes and goals for therapy, and decide whether we are a good match. The fit between client and psychologist is essential, and if I am not the best match, then I want to help you connect with another practitioner who is.
